Air France KLM Martinair is looking to optimise its cargo operations and deliver exceptional service as it selected SkyCell as its preferred unit load device (ULD) tracking partner.
This collaboration involves the deployment of state-of-the-art Internet of Things (IoT) technology across the airline group’s entire ULD fleet, which will provide real-time visibility through the SkyMind platform.
SkyMind utilises advanced readers and tags, along with purpose-built IoT technology, to provide airlines with real-time visibility, enabling Air France KLM Martinair Cargo to gain complete control over its ULD operations.
This innovation is expected to mitigate manual efforts historically associated with tracing and tracking, ultimately resulting in significant time and cost savings.
Adriaan den Heijer, EVP at Air France-KLM Cargo and managing director at Martinair, said the investment in the latest asset tracking technology will help address the issue of losses and ensure seamless movement of cargo.
