Jet Airways of India has appointed IAM as its cargo GSSA for Ireland, with immediate effect. The appointment of IAM - Ireland’s largest cargo GSSA - marks the first active marketing of Jet Airways’ cargo capacity in Ireland, since it began international services to London in 2005. India’s Flyington Freighters said it would not go ahead with an order of freighters from Boeing after it signed a previously announced US$1 billion order for six A330-200F cargo aircraft from rival Airbus, Reuters reported. “At this point in time, we are not going ahead with Boeing,” T. Jet Airways is planning to launch a dedicated cargo airline by the yearend, according to a report in The Indian Express newspaper which quotes the Indian carrier’s chairman, Naresh Goyal. “We are in discussion with Lufthansa (on this) and expect to make an announcement as soon as the network, facilities, distribution, sales, fall in place,” Goyal said. INDIA: Air India sets date for cargo launch
Air India said it will launch its all freighter operations this month. The first all freighter aircraft, converted from an A 310 passenger aircraft will be deployed on the Kerala-Gulf sector. Air India, which in the early 1990s had an air cargo market share of 30 percent, is planning to regain its market share from this operation.
