MIDDLE EAST: Emirates orders more 'superjumbos'
Emirates airline has reaffirmed its order for 43 Airbus A380s and has signed a contract for a further four aircraft. Dubai’s government-owned airline, which already has the largest number of the ‘superjumbos’ on order, will now receive 47 of the $300million planes. Indonesian Forwarders Association (INFA) has reported that many of its members in DKI Jakarta province have closed their business because of their inability to compete with multinationalforwarders operating in the city. The Airports Council International said that airports worldwide reported that 2006 cargo traffi c increased by 4 percent, while passenger traffi c rose 5 percent, as compared to 2005.
