Aviapartner has announced a new contract with Lufthansa and Swiss for full handling services in Venice. The contract, effective 1 January 2008, covers about 5000 flights per year for both airlines combined. Mainland China-HK cargo restrictions to be removed
All-cargo services between mainland China and Hong Kong will be fully liberalised by the end of this year which will eliminate capacity restrictions currently in place, following consultations between the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China and the Transport and Housing Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Beijing’s new terminal 3 to be operational
The Beijing International Airport Authority has announced that the first wave of carriers to move on 29 February to the new Terminal 3 at the Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA) will be British Airways , El Al, Qatar, Qantas, Shandong and Sichuan Airlines. A second wave of 26 international and domestic airlines will follow on 26 March. Competition heats up for Prague modernisation
GVK Group, which is developing the Mumbai airport, is planning to bid for modernisation of the Prague airport. GMR Group, which is building airports in New Delhi, Hyderabad and Istanbul, has also decided to bid for Prague, according to a Cargo News Asia report.
