Air New Zealand will upscale capacity on its four-times weekly Auckland-Honolulu route with its new B787-9 to replace the existing B767-300 from end-March next year. Air New Zealand has seven B787-9s on order and five in operation with an average age of six months compared to its feet of five B767s, which have an average age of 20 years.
“We’re looking forward to taking the 787-9 Dreamliner to Honolulu,” said Air New Zealand’s chief sales & commercial officer, Cam Wallace. “Not only will the aircraft allow us to deliver a significant capacity increase on the route but we’ll also be able to improve the experience our customers have on board with new in-flight product.”
