Malaysia Airline’s cargo arm MASkargo (MAB Kargo Sdn Bhd) transported an urgent shipment of Covid-19 test kits from Seoul to Jakarta using a A330-200F on its first charter flight for 2021.
The 11-hour flight saw MH 6431 depart Incheon International Airport (ICN) on 4 January at 1720 hours (local time) and safely arrive at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) in Jakarta on 5 January after a two-hour transit at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL).
MASkargo transported around 20 tonnes with coordination from charterers in Zagreb, recipients in Indonesia and its teams in Kuala Lumpur and Seoul.

“With the adequate infrastructure to ensure the safe handling, transportation, and distribution of the temperature-sensitive goods, MASkargo maintained the aircraft temperature at between 15˚C to 25˚C throughout the eleven-hour flight,” said Ibrahim Mohamed Salleh, MASkargo’s CEO.
The Malaysian cargo carrier said the teams involved worked through the year-end holidays to get the much-needed shipment safely according to temperature and traveling time requirements.
“This mission has proven beyond doubt, MASkargo’s capability and solid track record of carrying time- and temperature-sensitive products within its network and beyond,” added Ibrahim.
In addition to its three freighters, the carrier operates passenger aircraft with cargo on board as well as belly space from Malaysia Airlines’ fleet to compensate for the passenger capacity reduction.
