China will be biggest manufacturer in 2011
The US is poised to lose its 110-year run as the world's largest manufacturing nation by output, in 2011 to China, according to IHS Global Insight figures released recently. The US created 19.9 per cent of world manufacturing output last year, compared with 18.6 per cent in China, despite the global downturn. Changi posts 16% rise in April cargo volumes
Singapore Changi Airport registered an increase of 16.3 per cent in cargo volumes in April, year-on-year with 146,849 tonnes of cargo processed. For the January-April period, airfreight movements totalled 575,697 tonnes, up 18 per cent.
