Turkish Cargo revenue down in first half 2015
Turkish Airlines as a group has reported strong second-quarter and first-half figures for 2015 but the picture was less rosy for the carrier’s cargo division which saw revenue fall in both periods ending 30 June. Overall the carrier reported a quarterly net profit of US$253 million, outperforming Q2 of 2014, which had a net profit of $190 million while the first half of 2015 saw net profits jump to $406 million, compared to $88 million in the same period of 2014. IAG, Qatar extend capacity partnership
IAG Cargo has announced a significant extension of its capacity partnership with Qatar Airways, one year on from the signing of their landmark freighter deal. IAG sees Q2 revenue up, yields down 3%
IAG Cargo today announced its Q2 results from 1 April to 30 June 2015, reporting an 8.8 per cent increase in commercial revenue to €259 million versus the same period last year. IAG Cargo’s revenue growth comes during a period of network expansion, with a capacity increase of 2.1 per cent. Freight volume also dipped by 1.4 per cent to 214,000 tonnes. Swiss WorldCargo and Lufthansa Cargo have announced a rejigging of their pricing structure which will see overall pricing remaining the same. Opting not to take the all-in rate route that a number of airlines have moved to, Swiss and Lufthansa said that as of 25 October 2015 the pricing of both airlines will consist of two components: A net rate and an ‘Airfreight Surcharge’.
