Qatar Airways secures Li-batt certification

Qatar Airways has added another IATA badge under its belt as the airline became the second carrier in the world to be awarded the Center of Excellence for Independent Validators Lithium Batteries (CEIV Li-batt) certification. The certification aims to improve safety in handling and transportation of lithium batteries throughout the supply chain. SF Airlines entrusts new JFK service to WFS

Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) has been appointed to handle SF Airlines’ new scheduled freighter services at New York’s JFK International Airport. The Chinese airline is operating twice-weekly Boeing 747-400F flights from Hangzhou, the capital of China’s Zhejiang province, to New York. WFS expects to handle some 12,000,000 kilos each year for SF, which previously operated only ad hoc charter services on the route. Cainiao doubles down for Double 11

Cainiao Network, the logistics arm of Alibaba, is beefing up its initiatives for Double 11 with additional air freight and logistics capacity for merchants exporting from China. UPS tops up order for Boeing’s 767 freighters

American logistics integrator UPS has placed an order for eight more 767 freighters from Boeing as the integrator looks to modernize its fleet in view of efficiency, sustainability and reliability. The incremental order will increase the carrier’s fleet of 767 freighters to 108, along with 238 Boeing heritage freighters like the 747, 757, 767 and MD-11. Lufthansa to welcome second A321F in October

Lufthansa is set to welcome its second converted Airbus A321 freighter in October to boost its medium-haul network, as the airline continues to see high demand for e-commerce and same-day delivery solutions. The second A321F with registration D-AEUA is currently undergoing conversion in Singapore.
