Kenya Airways’ ground handling subsidiary has joined Cargo 2000. The GHA, which was formed in 1978 at the inception of the airline, currently handles close to 70 percent of all airfreight through Jomo Kenya International Airport, Nairobi, which incorporates general cargo, courier traffic and post office mail. The GHA operation also extends to Moi International Airport Mombasa. Servisair Cargo has been appointed Emirates SkyCargo’s cargo handling agent at Newcastle Airport, in the UK. Emirates will launch a Newcastle-Dubai service on September 1. U-Freight has become the first logistics company to sign a strategic cooperation agreement with Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, giving a guarantee of minimum cargo throughput.
