New alliance eyes ‘reset’ for Europe-Australia air freight
Recently formed Wholesale by Vels and established Australian wholesaler Consol Alliance have entered into a strategic partnership to disrupt the air cargo business on the Europe-Australia route. DSV adds Chicago-Shanghai to air charter network
Last week DSV introduced three new intercontinental routes to its air charter network , including a weekly Chicago to Shanghai roundtrip starting 1 March. The company is responding to accommodate capacity despite the lack of it in a tight air freight market due to the pandemic. Kuehne+Nagel to buy Asian forwarder Apex International
Kuehne+Nagel is set to expand its footprint in Asia Pacific after it agreed to buy freight forwarder Apex International, which the Swiss company described as the “largest acquisition in its history.” In a press release, the two parties have agreed to not disclose any transaction details, but a Bloomberg report valued the purchase at US$1.5 billion.
