Hong Kong's Swire group has has announced another in what appears to be a fairly regular management shakeup, which will see James Woodrow move from director of cargo at Cathay Pacific Airways to the shipping side of Swire’s vast business empire. Lufthansa ends three Russian routes
Lufthansa is scaling back operations to Russia, as it discontinues three destinations from Frankfurt to Samara, Nizhny Novgorod and Moscow Vnukovo as the routes have become unprofitable. The German airlines will operate the last flights to Samara and Nizhny Novgorod September 6 and 7, respectively. The last Frankfurt-Moscow Vnukovo service is planned for August 30. Garuda increases Jakarta-Amsterdam frequency
Garuda Indonesia will reduce its flights between Jakarta and London Gatwick in favour of additional flights to Amsterdam. Operated on the B777-300ER, the airline will increase flight frequency of the Jakarta - Amsterdam route from five times to six times a week starting from 11 July 2015. To add more flights between Jakarta and Amsterdam, Garuda’s London services drop from five-times-weekly via Amsterdam to three-times-weekly, and retain the Dutch detour in each direction.
