The newest player to enter the freighter conversion arena for Boeing’s 777 widebody jet, Mammoth Freighters, has gotten its first order from Ontario-based Cargojet Airways, who will be the launch customer for its new 777-200LR freighter. Emirates invests US$1 billion to boost cargo operations
Emirates announced that it will invest AED3.6 billion (US$ 1 billion) to provide more air cargo capacity. It revealed the order for two new Boeing 777 freighters and conversion orders for four of the airline’s Boeing 777-300ER passenger aircraft. The new orders are expected to arrive next year, whilst the widebody freighter conversions will take some time between 2023 and 2024, the carrier noted. IAI's Aviation Group has signed an agreement with aircraft lessor World Star Aviation to convert 10 B737-800 passenger aircraft to cargo configuration. The orders come with an option for 10 more.
