Strong performance in charter and scheduled air cargo markets helped Volga-Dnepr Group out-perform the industry average traffic figures in 2009, by a wide margin. After months of uncertainty following the declaration of its bankruptcy by its parent, Aeroflot Cargo has resumed flying a full freighter schedule. Aeroflot announced late last year that it was closing its separate cargo subsidiary, Aeroflot Cargo, declaring it bankrupt and absorbing back into the main group. EUROPE & CIS: Cargo plane lands on frozen Estonian lake
A cargo plane with engine and landing gear problems made an emergency landing in March on the frozen surface of a lake outside the Estonian capital, authorities said.
