Thailand’s logistics costs too high
Thailand's actual logistics costs index this year should not be above its previous forecast of 23.9 percent of gross domestic product, the Nation reported, citing Thammasat Business School associate professor Ruth Banomyong. China logistics industry reports rise
China’s national logistics trade value rose 25.5 percent in the fi rst half to 33.8 trillion yuan (US$4.4 trillion), representing a growth of 1.7 percent faster than that recorded in the fi rst quarter, Xinhua reported. Panalpina has been sucked into a bribery investigation involving its US and Nigerian businesses, Transport Intelligence reported. The company’s US subsidiary has received a request for documentation from the American authorities concerning questions about alleged improper payments to Nigerian customs offi cials. Abu Dhabi cargo traffic surges
Abu Dhabi airport has reported a 34 per cent increase in cargo traffi c in the fi rst half of 2007, compared with the same period in 2006. Cargo volumes reached 149,210 tonnes in the six-month period. Aircraft movements increased seven per cent to 39,300.
