Emirates SkyCargo last month introduced an once-weekly A310-300F freighter service from Dubai to Djibouti, which is Emirates' 15th African destination. The A310-300F offers a gross payload of 39 tonnes. MIDDLE EAST: Dubai DCA starts restructuring
The Dubai Department of Civil Aviation has commenced implementation of a project to restructure its organisational set up, the Khaleej Times reported. The proposal, which is linked to the Dubai Strategic Plan 2007-2015, was approved late last year by Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, president of DCA and chairman of Emirates Group. The Indian Government is considering a proposal to allow foreign airlines to pick up a minority stake in domestic cargo airline operations. "The Ministry has proposed allowing 100 FDI in sea plane, helicopter operations and setting up of Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility.
