The International Air Cargo Association's (TIACA) has selected Copenhagen Airport and SAS Cargo as the co-hosts for the Association's next Executive Conference and AGM, which will take place on May 12-14,2008. In a statement, TIACA said the Danish airport is a major cargo hub in Northern Europe, handling annual freight volumes in excess of 380,000 tonnes. Japan’s Kansai airport to rely on cargo growth
With the scheduled August 2 opening of a second runway, fi nancially troubled Kansai International Airport is hoping to be revived as a major Asian freight hub, according to a Japan Times report. Auckland Airport backs Dubai offer
Government-backed Dubai Aerospace Enterprise has offered to pay up to NZ$2.6 billion (US$2.08 billion) for a controlling stake in New Zealand’s Auckland International Airport, which was backed by the airport’s board, Reuters reported. Changi Airports International has formed a strategic joint venture with the Shenzhen Airport Group to develop regional airports in China. The alliance will give CAI, a subsidiary of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore which operates Changi Airport, further access to the aviation market in China.
