Air Canada said it is dropping its freighter operation into China. At the end of June, the Canadian carrier will return a leased MD-11 freighter to ACMI provider World Airways, terminating its all-cargo service between Shanghai and Toronto. NYK has invested US$5 million in Singapore-based Jett8 Airlines Cargo, following an agreement reached in February 2007. Singapore Airlines plans to increase its Shanghai-Singapore services by 25 percent by July 1. From June 17, Singapore Airlines is offering three more direct fl ights a week from Shanghai to Singapore, Xinhua reported, citing Ho Yik Wing, general manager of Singapore Airlines China.
