EU to halt cargo-in-cabin flights from August
Cargo-in-cabin flights beyond 31 July are set to cease across the Europe Union, according to a recent announcement from the EU Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The agency has determined that the exemptions delivered in this context will not be extended from August of this year. The same applies for existing approvals that have been granted based on the use of the deviation on transportation of cargo in passengers compartments. Cainiao Network, the logistics arm of Alibaba Group, is expanding its air freight network from its fulfillment hub at Kuala Lumpur airport (KUL) in Malaysia with the launch of new export routes. Nippon Express (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd opened a new warehouse in the free commercial zone (FCZ) at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) on April 1. The new warehouse located at the Cainiao Aeropolis eWTP Hub will expand the forwarder’s existing work and cargo storage space in Malaysia and give it a combined warehouse space of around 9,700 sqm.
