IATA appoints new SVP for financial and digital services
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has appointed Muhammad Albakri, IATA’s regional vice president for Africa and the Middle East, as senior vice president for customer, financial and digital services (CFDS) effective 1 March 2021, a press release confirmed. Vietjet posts US$48 million loss in Q2 with revenue down 54 percent
Hanoi-based low-cost carrier Vietjet posted VND1,122 billion (around US$48 million) in operating losses for the second quarter, as air transport revenue slumped 54% YoY to VND1,970 billion (around US$84.5 million), a press release confirmed. AirBridgeCargo (ABC) Airlines, a unit of Volga-Dnepr Group, delivered a record high of 41 RKN containers from Amsterdam to Shanghai onboard the main and lower decks of its Boeing 747-8F for Danish logistics company DSV, a press release confirmed. Boeing announced production stoppage of the 747 jumbo jet following news that numerous airlines would be retiring their 747 fleets due to the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic, data and analytics firm GlobalData stated in a press release.
