Etihad Crystal Cargo last month operated its maiden A300-600RF freighter flight from Abu Dhabi to Frankfurt-Hahn. Russian express company EMEX has announced major expansion plans to extend its network and offer new services. It aims to double turnover this year and in 2008. EMEX will open a new branch in Novosibirsk, its 25th office, and aims to have 35 branch offices and agencies across Russia by the end of this year. RUSSIA: Putin signs order for new Russian airline
Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed an order establishing a new airline that is to be the country’s sec- ond biggest after Aeroflot, the Kremlin said. The president’s order will see Russian regional airlines KrasAir, Domodedovo, Samara, Omskavia and Sibaviatrans merged into AirUnion within six months, the Kremlin said in a statement. MIDDLE EAST: Emirates orders more ‘superjumbos’
Emirates airline has reaffirmed its order for 43 Airbus A380s and has signed a contract for a further four aircraft. Dubai’s government-owned airline, which already has the largest number of the ‘superjumbos’ on order, will now receive 47 of the $300million planes.
