AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC), the scheduled cargo services arm of Volga- Dnepr Group, has transported nine rare Akhal-Teke horses for breeding from Russia to China. The horses were carried onboard one of ABC’s Boeing 747 freighters from Moscow to Beijing for a customer in Beijing planning to raise the elite bloodstock. Aeroflot-Cargo has reported August cargo volumes amounting to 14,140 tonnes of freight and mail, which have exceeded last year’s volumes by 4.3 per cent. Of the total, 7,659 tonnes were uplifted on flights of Aeroflot’s passenger network while Aeroflot-Cargo’s freighter fleet of three MD-11Fs carried 6,480 tonnes exceeding last year’s volumes by 10.7 per cent.
