The Dubai Department of Civil Aviation has commenced implementation of a project to restructure its organisational set up, the Khaleej Times reported. The proposal, which is linked to the Dubai Strategic Plan 2007-2015, was approved late last year by Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, president of DCA and chairman of Emirates Group. INDIA: FDI in cargo airlines to go up
The Indian Government is considering a proposal to allow foreign airlines to pick up a minority stake in domestic cargo airline operations. "The Ministry has proposed allowing 100 FDI in sea plane, helicopter operations and setting up of Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility. Air Canada has announced plans to discontinue its daily flights to India starting in May, citing insufficient demand for the route. South African Airways (SAA) and Air Mauritius have reached a code-share agreement on the routes between Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town and Mauritius.
