Korean Air converts B777-300ERs for cargo transport after ministry approval
Korean Air has converted its own passenger planes for freight transport after getting approval from the transport ministry. Two of its Boeing 777-300ERs are now operational for carrying all cargo, with the first one flying to Columbus, Ohio on 8 September, and the other set to fly the same route on 10 September. SIA Engineering Company Limited (“SIAEC”) and GE Aviation (“GE”) have agreed to establish a new engine overhaul joint venture based in Singapore. The joint venture will provide a full range of engine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for the GE90 and GE9X engines. Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) has renamed its Swiss European Air Lines subsidiary, the operator of its Avro RJ100 fleet. The company will now be known as Swiss Global Air Lines.
