Lufthansa Cargo and Deutsche Post subsidiary DHL are on the brink of founding a new cargo airline. The provisional name of the project, that has been secretly discussed between both enterprises since a number of months,is “NewCo” (New Company). INDIA: Air India delays freighter launch
India's state-owned national carrier, Air India, has decided to delay the resumption of its freighter operations until this month. The airline had earlier said that it would launch freighter services to the Gulf and European destinations from 15 June. Private Chinese air cargo carrier, Yangtze River Express Airlines, plans to strengthen its fl eet with the addition of eight to 10 B747-400 freighters and/or B777-300 freighters between 2008 and 2013, the airline’s president Huang Siang-sun says. Transmile has started regular fl ights to Riverside airport in the Greater Los Angeles area, its second US destination in addition to the US service from Malaysia via Hong Kong that was launchedlast year.
