EVA Air of Taiwan has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Airbus for the purchase of four additional A330-300s. EVA to replace B747-400Fs with new B777Fs
Taiwanese carrier EVA Air has indicated it plans to trim its freighter fleet and replace its eight existing B747-400 freighters (three production and five converted freighters) with five new B777Fs, according to a report in the China Times quoting EVA chairman Chang Kuo Wei. TAIWAN: EVA Air sees cargo revenue plunge 51%
Taiwanese carrier EVA Air saw its cargo revenue plunge 51 per cent in the first half of this year as falling Asian exports sliced the carrier’s freight traffic by nearly a third. EVA, which operates 17 widebody freighters contributing more than 40 per cent of its revenue from cargo, reported US$574 million in cargo revenue in the first six months of 2009.
