IndiGo, CFM International extend partnership
India’s low-cost giant IndiGo has selected CFM International’s LEAP-1A engines to power its narrowbody fleet of 310 A320neo, A321neo, and A321XLR aircraft in the pipeline. The move follows a long-term engine service agreement for 280 A320neos in 2019. The new deal includes 620 new installed engines and associated spare engines, and a multiyear service agreement. GECAS to purchase 14 IndiGo Airbus neos for leaseback
GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) along with other ventures have agreed to a purchase/leaseback (PLB) arrangement for 14 Airbus narrowbody aircraft with Indian budget airline IndiGo. Consisting seven A320neos and seven A321neos, powered by LEAP engines, the aircraft are scheduled to be delivered between the fourth quarter of 2021 and the middle of 2022. IndiGo to add A321 freighters in its fleet
Building on previous success of its cargo business, IndiGo announced a freighter programme and is in the process of sourcing four A321ceo aircraft for cargo conversion. “A letter of intent has been signed with a lessor for two aircraft already, and IndiGo expects to reach agreement for the next two shortly.
