At the halfway mark of 2024, Liege Airport is soaring ahead, with total aircraft movements and tonnage up sharply, marking a strong performance in the first six months of the year. Cargo volumes continue to grow at Liege Airport
March 2024 confirms Liege Airport's excellent start to the year, with tonnage up 16 percent on March 2023. Over the month of March 2024, the number of cargo aircraft movements rose by eight percent compared with the same period in 2023. Freight traffic rose by 16 percent (104,080 tons vs. 90,097 tons) in March 2024, and by more than 14 percent year-to-date in 2024. WFS wins China Eastern contract in Liege
China Eastern Airlines has extended its partnership with Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) with a new contract to handle Boeing 777 cargo-only flights at Liege Airport. The new 3-year agreement will see WFS handling around 32,000 tonnes of cargo each year for the carrier. Freight stumbles at Liege Airport in 2022
Liege Airport saw a ‘contrasted’ 2022 as the cargo airport saw freight demand fall whilst passenger numbers increased no thanks to the double whammy brought about by Covid and Ukraine conflict. 1.14 million tonnes of freight transited through the Belgian air hub, a 19 percent drop compared to figures seen in 2021.
