As a key milestone of the joint business agreement (JBA) between Lufthansa Cargo and Cathay Pacific Cargo, which was announced in May, Europe’s largest air cargo carrier has moved its local freight handling into the Cathay Pacific Cargo Terminal (CPCT) in Hong Kong. Lufthansa Cargo and All Nippon Airways (ANA) have announced a further integration of their services from 12 July, as part of their cooperation agreement signed in late 2014 and gradually extended. Freight volumes stable at Lufthansa Cargo
In the first six months of this year, Lufthansa Cargo carried 811,000 tonnes of freight and post. This is a 0.5 per cent increase over the same period the previous year and means the cargo carrier is holding its own in a challenging market environment, the it said, pointing to "flexible supply management" as being a key strategy.
