The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) has announced the appointment of Susan M. Baer, who has spent 21 years in a myriad of aviation department roles, as director of aviation. The first woman in Port Authority history to assume the job, she replaces William R. DeCota, who died unexpectedly in October. New York area airports poised for growth
In terms of total traffic, both regions performed similarly during the economic downturn, both with overall negative growth (-28.8 per cent for Asia; -27.8 per cent for the Middle East.) DOT withdraws controversial slot auctions
The US Department of Transportation (DOT) announced recently it intends to cancel proposed slot auctions at New York’s three main area airports, reversing a controversial rule put in place by DOT in the waning days of the Bush administration.
