Qatar Airways Cargo has commenced operations to three new freighter destinations, Lagos, Accra and Guangzhou, with all three routes being served by the A330 freighter. Qatar Airways Cargo receives fourth A330 freighter
Qatar Airways Cargo took delivery of its fourth Airbus A330-200 freighter. The A330-200F has a payload capability of 70 metric tonnes and a range of up to 4,000 nm (7,400 km), and with its arrival adds even greater capacity to Qatar Airways Cargo’s rapidly expanding fleet. Qatar's much delayed Hamad International Airport began its first cargo operations with Qatar Airways Cargo carrying a shipment for Qatar Petroleum from Europe to Doha on 1 December. The new cargo terminal, which is one of the largest in the world, has the capacity to move 5,700 shipments simultaneously and to handle 1.4 million tonnes of cargo per annum by 2015, representing a 75 per cent increase from the current airport.
