European Cargo Services (ECS) hasextended its network to the UnitedArab Emirates with the opening of itsown office in Dubai, located in theDubai Airport Free Zone adjacentto the airline and freight forwardingcommunity.
Globe Air Cargo FZE is the firstfully-owned ECS office in the MiddleEast region. In Dubai, ECS will providecargo sales services for Qantas Airways,SN Brussels, Ukraine InternationalAirlines and Africa West.
Shiranka Leo, who formerly spent24 years working for Singapore AirlinesCargo, has been appointed as countrymanager for ECS in Dubai. He reports directly to Tobias Siegl, managing directorof Globe Air Cargo FZE.
"The UAE is such a buoyant andfast-growing cargo market and it isimportant that we have our own officethere to provide the representationservices our airline customers requirefrom us," said Tobias Siegl. "Furthergrowth will widen the scope of ournetwork and we can fulfil our missionto optimise airline cargo capacities andearnings and also facilitate intercontinentalairfreight transit for the benefitof freight forwarders," he added. This isthe latest extension of the ECS networkand part of the company’s strategy toserve airlines on a world-wide basis.
