New Brussels-based all-cargo airline, Cargo B Airlines has appointed several GSAs as part of its worldwide marketing strategy, ready for the start of fl ight operations at the end of September 2007.
The GSA’s include Globe Air Cargo, which will cover Germany, Poland, Switzerland and Austria, Aero Cargo International will cover France, South Africa will be handled by Express Air Services and Latin America will be represented by Aerogroup. In the coming weeks, more GSAs will be appointed in other key areas to complete the global team.
As from mid September, Cargo B Airlines, operating one B747-200F, will start two fl ights per week from Brussels to Johannesburg as well as two fl ights per week from Brussels to Sao Paulo (VCP), Quito, Bogota and Brussels.
The airline will also offer part and full charters worldwide. A planned capital increase to 20 million euros has been executed, and a letter of intent has been signed by 3P Air Freighters for the purchase of the third B747-200F on behalf of Cargo B as lessee.
This aircraft from Air France will be delivered on September 1st, and, subject to the necessary permits, will enter the service of Cargo B Airlines by September. The second B747F will join the Cargo B Airlines fl eet on October 1st, with the third aircraft following on April 1, 2008.
In a related development, Cargo B has signed a contract with Aviapartner, the Belgian cargo handler, covering a full range of handling services at Brussels airport, which will be the home base of Cargo B.
