November 30, 1941 – June 8, 2007 It is with the deepest regret and sadness that we must announce the sudden and untimely death of our friend and colleague, Ron Cesana, who sadly passed away on June 8th, while on vacation in Italy. Cesana was project director of Cargo 2000, but to anyone who met him as he traveled the world working to implement the Cargo 2000 quality system, speaking at conferences, giving media interviews and convincing more and more companies to join the programme, he was ‘Mr. Cargo 2000’.
Ron devoted his career to improving the quality of air cargo during a long and distinguished career with Air Express International (AEI) and in recent years Cargo 2000. During our most diffi cult and challenging times, when even our staunchest supporters wondered if the scale and complexity of what we had taken on was too great, Ron would convince us otherwise with his wise words, knowledge and sheer enthusiasm.
He was also a passionate family man and our thoughts and sympathies are with Ron’s wife and children. In business and in life, Ron has left a lasting legacy. We will be more committed than ever to ensure that our quality programme and the benefi ts and improvements it is delivering for air cargo services providers and customers around the world, is fully implemented just as Ron expected.
We lost a dear friend, an inspirational colleague and someone totally committed to making our industry better. May he forever rest in peace.
