US-based Southwest Airlines has purchased the AdvancedCargo Suite from Lufthansa Systems, which will enable Southwest Airlines to optimise its air cargo booking, handling and cargo revenue accounting processes. Southwest, which carries 96.3 million passengers a year, intends to enhance its cargo business by optimising some of its core processes and providing new features for customers. The individual requirements and functions for Southwest were defi ned in advance during Southwest/ Lufthansa Systems workshops. The cargo solution will be tailored to meet these needs in the course of the implementation effort.
Lufthansa Systems offers modules which interact for all core booking, handling and cargo revenue accounting processes. AdvancedBooking uniformly controls the booking process across all distribution channels and supplies reliable data to the cargo staff.
