The Air Cargo Agents Association of India (ACAAI) sub region in Coimbatore/ Tiupur said it will promote growth, development and professionalism in the air cargo business. The association recently elected its offi ce bearers with P. Shanmugam (Shaan’s Cargo) becoming chairman and I. A. J. Prabu (La Freightlift) and E. Kathiresan (DHL Danzas Lemuir) taking up the posts of secretaryand treasurer respectively.

ACAAI functions as a regular medium for dialogue with the members, principals, airlines, customers, exporters, importers and various government departments and authorities. The Association also maintains close contacts with world bodies related to the air cargo trade and represents matters concerning India’s air freight forwarding industry at various international forums.

ACAAI is also a member of several government committees including the Standing Committee On Promotion of Exports by Air (SCOPE Air), Advisory Committees of the Indian Customs and Cargo Facilitation and the Committee of the Airports Authority of India (AAI). The association actively takes part in the drafting of the new civil aviation policy by the government of India, which includes matters such as privatisation of airports and PSP/Airport infrastructure.
