Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi province in southeastern China, has put together a three-tier logistics development plan for its local logistics industry, covering the period between now and 2020, Xinhua reports. The northern hub will be the most important, located near Changbei International Airport, supported by the city’s cargo railway north station, the Nanchang International Container Terminal and the expressway network.
Phase I will last until 2010 and focus on the government enacting policy to support the emerging logistics industry. The second, running from 2010 to 2015, will be marked by a period of maturity for industry and the third is expected to see the local logistics industry take off.
