The International Air Cargo Association’s (TIACA) has selected Copenhagen Airport and SAS Cargo as the co-hosts for the Association’s next Executive Conference and AGM, which will take place on May 12-14,2008.
In a statement, TIACA said the Danish airport is a major cargo hub in Northern Europe, handling annual freight volumes in excess of 380,000 tonnes. The airport processes some 259,000 operations a year carrying cargo of which 8,300 are freighter operations. TIACA chairman, Jack Boisen said: "Our selection committee was highly impressed by the commitment to cargo at Copenhagen Airport, its vision and real plans for the future. The airport is ideally located to provide a Northern European hub for air cargo traffi c to Scandinavia, the Baltic States and the countries to the south of the Baltic Sea and we believe TIACA’s members and delegates will see considerable future business potential in the region."
