The air freight division of PT Eka Sari Lorena Ekspres, or ESL Ekspres, will double following the plans of Lorena Air to become a full service airline, which is now pending government approval.
Managing Director ESL Ekspres Johannes M. Silalahi told Bisnis Indonesia daily that Lorena Air is ready with three aircrafts and in discussions for the acquisition of 9 more, including B737s, with total value of US$30 million.
ESL Ekspres is a cargo supplier for Garuda Indonesia, Lion Air, and Adam Air with average capacity of nearly one tonne monthly. Silalahi said with the operation of Lorena Air, the cargo capacity will grow to 180 tonnes a month.
