GoAir has said it plans to introduce five new aircraft over the next 12 months, adding to its current fleet of six. The carrier also plans to add 5-6 aircraft to its fleet each year until 2012, when it expects to operate a total of 31 A320s.
GoAir reportedly plans to utilise the new aircraft primarily by increasing frequency on existing routes, rather then launching new services. According to CEO, Edgardo Badiali, "to save costs though we will induct new aircraft and expand fleet, without adding new routes. This will help in reaping economies of scale".
GoAir currently operates to 11 destinations but plans to expand in Southern and Northeast India.
