While not everyone left the Paris Airshow in a jubilant mood, Rolls-Royce left with at least a grin on its face after picking up a number of engine orders worth US$4.1 billion from carriers including Gulf Air, Qatar Airlines, Royal China, Condor of Germany, Cathay Pacific and AirAsia X. The orders included an order from AirAsia X for the Trent XWB to power its order – also placed at the Paris show – for 10 firm and five options for Airbus’ A350 XWB aircraft.
