This international training programme was once again organised in collaboration with the Australian Federation of International Forwarders (AFIF), an IATA approved training facility, which has a wealth of experience and expertise in conducting international training programs on freight forwarding in Australia as well as in countries in the Asia- Pacific region.
Both the DGR & DGR Refresher courses were once again conducted by Bob Rogers, who has more than 30 years experience with the AFIF as a Master Trainer in Freight Forwarding. Rogers has conducted several training programmes for SLFFA members during the past several years including, Basic & Advanced Airfreight courses held in September 2003, and the DGR & DGR Refresher programmes conducted annually for the last nine years.
The chairman and the executive committee along with the advisory committee consisting of the past chairmen, initiated these training programmes in order to further develop the human resources in freight forwarding and to meet the challenges in the ever changing global market place.
Emirates Airlines extended their support to make these refresher courses a success by part-sponsoring the travel arrangements of Rogers.
Due to the keen interest shown by SLFFA members for various training programmes for the betterment of the industry, the Sri Lanka Freight Forwarders Association plans to continue organising many more IATA accredited training programmes in future.
