Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) has announced that Polet Cargo Airlines and MNG Airlines have appointed Hactl for cargo ground handling at the Hong Kong International Airport to support their new charterfreighter services.

Heavy lift and specialist cargo carrier, Polet Cargo Airlines, launched its inaugural charter services to Hong Kong on 9 May 2010 with routing of Frankfurt – Hong Kong – Vienna. It marks the first ever arrival of the new type of Russian-built aircraft – the wide-body IL-96-400T – in Hong Kong, reaching an important milestone for the carrier as it expands its freighter services in the Asia Pacific region.

“It is an exciting first step for us to run charter flight service to Hong Kong on our new homegrown aircraft,” said Polet Cargo Airlines spokesman, Maxim Klushin. “We see plenty of business opportunities in the Asia Pacific region and we are confident that Hactl, the world-class cargo terminal operator in Hong Kong with reliable and quality service, would definitely add value to our business and support our future expansion.”

In addition, MNG Airlines, the Turkish-based freighter carrier and capacity provider for airline companies around the world, launched its new charter services to Hong Kong with its Airbus A300 between Delhi and Hong Kong on 27 April 2010, with more charterflights scheduled in May.
