Seeing the potential of the cold chain market, China Airlines (CI) recently signed a contract with Envirotainer,a world-leader in secure cold chain logistics solutions. The cooperation between these two parties allows them to offer logistical services to clients in the healthcare market, said China Airlines Cargo.
As part of the agreement, Envirotainer will provide the CI team with a series of training and operational courses on the different types of active temperature-controlled air cargo containers. Both parties will then collaborate on promotional and marketing activities.
The move comes after joining the SkyTeam Cargo (SKTC) alliance inOctober 2012, from which point China Airlines started to align its freight products in line with SKTC specifications. For temperature-controlled products, the airline also aims to become a Qualified Envirotainer Provider (QEP).
