AeroGround Flughafen München, the ground handling subsidiary of the Munich Airport operating company (FMG), has reached agreement with the Slovenian airline Adria Airways on a long-term full-handling contract at Munich Airport. The contract covers aircraft and baggage handling, to be performed by AeroGround, as well as cargo handling through Cargogate.
In cooperation with its affiliates Aerogate and Cargogate, AeroGround is Munich Airport’s only full-service provider offering the complete range of landside and airside services to cover all aspects of aircraft, passenger and cargo handling. A cornerstone of this concept is the central sales unit of AeroGround, which, since 2013, has handled all sales and marketing activities for the three ground handling service providers AeroGround, Aerogate and Cargogate.
The Star Alliance carrier Adria Airways flies several times a week from Munich to the Slovenian capital Ljubljana, Pristina (Kosovo) and since the start of this year, to Åódź (Poland). For Munich Airport’s ground handling teams, this means an increased order volume of up to 1,200 handling operations per year, or 2,400 aircraft movements.
Earlier in April of this year, Aeroground was also successful in signing a long-term full handling deal with Aegean Airlines. Negotiations will soon be concluded for contracts with other well-known, but as yet unspecified carriers, the company said.
