SW Italia has secured its air operators certificate (AOC) from the Italian civil aviation authority, following the arrival of its first aircraft, B747-400(F) I-SWIA (msn 29729) formerly 4K-SW800 with parent Silk Way West Airlines. With its certification now complete, the Italian freight start-up plans to offer flights from Milan Malpensa to Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok via Baku initially before expanding to the US and Latin America.
