Global independent freight network The WACO System has welcomed Shinji Kitamura to its board of directors. Kitamura, the managing director of Nishi Nippon Railroad (NNR) Global Logistics, brings with him over three decades of experience in the logistics and transport industry.
“I am delighted to be joining The WACO System Board at a period of growth for our network,” said Kitamura. “I look forward to working even more closely with my fellow members and through this role championing new business opportunities for our network of independent freight forwarders.”
Kitamura joined NNR Global Logistics in 1981, and has held numerous roles in the firm whilst being stationed around the world at cities including Tokyo and Osaka, Japan, New York City and Chicago, USA, and London, UK.
He was appointed MD of the logistics firm in June 2014, and attended his first meeting with The WACO System in 2007 in Bangkok, Thailand.
“It is with great pleasure that I welcome Shinji to our leadership team,” said Richard Charles, executive director, The WACO System. “His wealth of experience and expertise will be immensely valuable as we continue to expand our global footprint and look to recruit new members.”
NNR Global Logistics has been a member of The WACO System since 1982. The WACO System welcomed over 100 delegates to its Annual General Meeting in Rome, Italy in April 2015. The network holds two meetings a year, facilitating hundreds of face-to face business meeting opportunities for members.
