Jetstar Asia is expanding its coverage in Southeast Asia with the launch of direct flights to three new destinations using A320 equipment. From this fall, the Singapore-based low-cost carrier will launch services to the Indonesian cities of Palembang and Pekanbaru and Danang in central Vietnam.
Flights to Palembang and Pekanbaru, the second and third largest cities in Sumatra, will start on 29 October and 5 November respectively and both routes will operate three times a week. Flights to Danang will then get underway on 27 November, also operating three times a week.
“Indonesia and Vietnam are two of the fastest growing economies in Southeast Asia and with the opening of their domestic aviation markets we’ve seen a growth in demand for new low fare travel opportunities,” said Jetstar Asia’s CEO, Bara Pasupathi.
