Air China will start Beijing-Montreal nonstop service from end-September 2015, the world’s first transpacific nonstop service between Asia and Montreal. Montreal is Canada’s second largest city and important industrial, commercial and financial centre.
Th e forthcoming Beijing-Montreal service is part of Air China’s move to solidify its presence in the China-Canada market, meeting the ever-increasing demand for air travel between the two countries. Currently, Air China offers 10 flights per week between the two countries.
Th rough its strategic joint operations with Air Canada, a member carrier of the Star Alliance, Air China puts its code on Air Canada’s fl ights between Vancouver and other six selected Canadian cities including Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal.
Currently, Air China directly serves seven destinations in North America, including New York (operated with its new B747-8 Intercontinental aircraft), Washington, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Vancouver and Hawaii, offering over 140 flights per week operated with B777-300ER and B747-8I aircraft.
