With a “meagre” 2.0 per cent growth in cargo volumes globally in 2015, year-onyear and a precipitous 15 per cent slide in yields, the top 20 “elite group” of freight forwarders lost market share in this environment. But a recent report from HSBC suggests global trade should recover in 2016 as demand from developed economies picks up. By Donald Urquhart.
